This month’s spotlight goes to Adoption Counselor, Nancy Hodges.
1) What is your official title?
Adoption Counselor, Social Worker and Certified Adoption Investigator.
2) How long have you worked at Thompson Dove Law Group?
I’ve worked at Thompson Dove Law Group for 18 years.
3) Describe a typical day on the job.
My typical day includes visits with birth mothers and adoptive families. I am available by telephone 24 hours; days and nights, weekends and holidays. It is not unusual for my phone to ring at all hours of the day and night.
4) Why are you passionate about adoption?
I am passionate about adoption because I get to witness first hand the joy and love a birth parent gives an adoptive couple. I have never been less than full of admiration and respect for the birth parents who makes the loving and unselfish but understandably difficult choice of adoption for her child.
5) What has been your most joyous or monumental memory with Thompson Dove Law Group so far?
My most monumental memory with Thompson Dove Law Group was when I was honored by the US Congress in Washington, DC for being recognized as an “Angel in Adoption.”
6) Describe yourself in three words.
Caring, Positive, Dedicated
7) What is your favorite aspect of your job?
My favorite aspect of my job is becoming friends with the birth parents and adoptive parents with whom I work. I hear from past birth parents and adoptive parents from nearly 20 years ago. Many of their life stories are inspiring and uplifting.
