There are many wellrespected adoption agencies in South Carolina that are available to make infant adoptive placements with adoptive parents. If adopting through one of these agencies, our law firm is available to consult with adoptive parents prior to the placement of a child for adoption. These consultations are typically conducted at no charge. In these consultations, our law firm seeks to identify legal risks that may be associated with the placement, including the Indian Child Welfare Act, birth father rights and responsibilities and the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.
After the agency places the child with the adopting parents, our law firm is then available to finalize the adoption on behalf of the adoptive parents. With law offices in Spartanburg and Charleston, our law firm is available to handle adoptions in every county in the State of South Carolina.

If you're involved in adoption in any way, you've heard the comments. They range from uneducated and well-meaning to deeply insensitive and sometimes rude and painful. Adoptive parents can do their children a great service in a) being prepared for such comments and having ready responses and b) talking openly with their children about the feelings that these comments raise - even if they are harmless in intent. In order to have conversations that feel safe and welcoming to adoptees, parents need to educate themselves in advance - maybe even years before they think it's necessary. Even if you're just beginning the adoption process, this course is for you.
We're so thankful for adult adoptees like @therapyredeemed who have taken the time to educate those of us who haven't had that experience. He is offering a 12 week workshop for adoptive parents that covers many helpful topics, including processing loss and grief, attachment and relationships, racial/ethnic identity, the understanding of trauma, and the overall complexities that come with separation from birth family and birth culture. You can use the link below to sign up for the course and we encourage you to spend some time reading the materials available to you there.
